Have you ever thought of making your own paw wax? well look no further, I am about to share my secret recipe with you. I made paw wax when I was making and selling natural products. I no longer sell it but I am happy to share my recipe with you. It is so easy anyone can do it, I promise!

This wax has limited ingredients in it, no essential oils. Tee tree oil is actually toxic to dogs and yet I see lots of waxes out there that have it. What is important to remember here is that dogs will lick their feet...a lot, so you want something that is super safe!

You can use this wax on dry cracked noses, and dry cracked paws like a moisturizer. You can also apply it right before a walk in winter months so salt is not as irritating for them. And once you come in from the cold it acts as a nice moisturizer so the cold does not dry out their feet.

EXTRA BONUS; you can secretly use it on yourself too for dry lips, and for split ends treatment before a shampooing.

This is a small batch size that will do for one container.

Ingredients

coconut oil 30mL

Shea butter 15mL

Bees wax 30mL

Olive oil 15mL

Place all ingredients in a microwave safe bowl. I recommend making it in the same container you wish to put it in once it's ready. Push up containers, wide mouth mason jars or glass bowls are all excellent choices for a container.

Microwave for 3 minutes, then, microwave at 30 second intervals until the ingredients are mostly melted. The bees wax will be last to melt and some will still be solid on the bottom.

Stir mixture until all the bees wax melts and all ingredients are fully incorporated.

The container can be left out to harden slowly or put in the fridge, if you notice any separation of ingredients while hardening you can give it another stir, smooth it out and let it keep setting.

Once hardened the wax is ready to use.

It's easy and fun, your pup will thank you.
